“Justice on the Geaux”
"Justice on the Geaux," a service by Acadiana Legal Service Corporation, will have a free civil legal fair from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday, Jan. 27 at the Beauregard Parish Library. Pre-register at www.la-law.org/civil-legal-fair.
Gelli print art at RealArt Gallery
There will be a gelli print art session from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 29 at the RealArt DeRidder Gallery. A donation of $5 to the gallery is requested, but not required. Look for more information on the gallery’s Facebook page.
Blanket/heater drive at BCOA
92.7 FM-KBDV will hold a live remote blanket and heater drive for the Beauregard and Vernon Councils on Aging on Wednesday, Jan. 29. The Beauregard event will be from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the Beauregard Council on Aging. Stop by and donate a heater and/or a blanket.
Southwest Jazz Concert at Wooten Theater
Southwest Jazz will hold their first concert of the season at 7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 7 the Wooten Theater. This is a free concert. There will be concessions, and proceeds benefit the Impromptu Players.
“Art for Vets” at RealArt Gallery
“Art for Vets” will be held from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Feb. 13, Feb. 27, March 13 and March 27 at the RealArt DeRidder Gallery. All veterans are welcome. Family members may attend if spaces are available. This is free. Instructor will be veteran/artist Paula Baldwin. For more, call 424-1379.
“Galentine’s Day” on Main Street
West Mane Salon & Boutique and DeRidder Main Street will be collaborating on a “Galentine’s Day” event from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 13 in downtown DeRidder. This will include evening shopping, snacks, a fun game, and activities. A list of merchants are participating!
Vintage Girl anniversary
Vintage Girl, 111 West 1st Street, will also be celebrating their 12th year anniversary in business on Thursday, Feb. 13!
Women’s self defense class
The DeRidder Police Department and the Beauregard Parish Sheriff’s Office will offer a free women’s self defense class from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 15 at the Wooten Theater. Spaces are limited! The deadline to register is Feb. 8. This is for ages 10 and up. For more information, call Chris Stracener at 462-8911.
Third Saturday Bluegrass Jam
The “Third Saturday Bluegrass Jam” will be Saturday, Feb. 15 at the Beauregard Museum from Noon to 2 p.m. Free to play; free to listen. Old-time, acoustic music only. For more information, call 463-8148.
“The Red Velvet Cake War” by the Impromptu Players
“The Red Velvet Cake War,” a show by the Impromptu Players, will be the group's 2025 premiere in show dates on Feb. 21, 22, 23, 28 and March 1 at the Wooten Theater.
