SOME KEY CLOSURES

DeRidder City Hall, the Beauregard Parish Courthouse (36th Judicial District Court, Clerk's Office and the District Attorney's Office) will be closed Tuesday, Jan. 21. Monday, Jan. 20 is a holiday (MLK Day). ALL state offices are closed Tuesday, Jan. 21 with additional closures possible. Stay tuned to local media.

AVOID TRAVEL

Louisiana DOTD and Louisiana State Police both advise motorists to STAY OFF THE ROADWAYS in this winter weather event. Several inches of snow and possible ice are projected. Avoid travel if at all possible as roadways will likely become impassable and/or hazardous. Unnecessary travel puts you and our first responders in danger.

PREPARING YOUR PIPES FOR COLD/IN THE EVENT OF FROZEN PIPES

SAFELY HEAT YOUR HOME

• Place space heaters 3-5 feet away from bedding.
• Plug space heaters directly into wall outlets.
• Never leave space heaters or candles unattended.
• Have working smoke alarms and CO detectors. Test them ahead of the cold.
