DERIDDER — Justin Slaydon (at right) was introduced Oct. 24 to the DeRidder City Council as the DeRidder Fire Department’s new Deputy Chief.

Slaydon was promoted to the position earlier this month. He has been with the department for nearly two decades — hired on in 2006.
