The community’s military partner is the 519th Military Police Battalion, Fort Polk, and the community came together on Wednesday, April 26 to honor them with a fun, relaxing day at the West Park Ball Fields.
Thanks to the Greater Beauregard Chamber of Commerce for their hard work toward this event, the many Community Sponsors - including a slew of area businesses, organizations and volunteers , Beauregard Parish Sheriff’s Office, City of DeRidder, DeRidder Police Department, DeRidder Fire Department — everyone — who came together to make the event happen.
These soldiers and their families have enriched our community. They are our heroes who sacrifice, serve and keep our nation safe.
The event included free lunch for the soldiers and their families, an incrediball tournament, games and more. An opening ceremony was also held with remarks by various community leaders and representatives.
