The City of DeRidder is located in Beauregard Parish, a part of the SWLA Economic Development Alliance region that also serves Allen, Calcasieu, Cameron and Jeff Davis Parishes.  

DeRidder is centrally located and is connected to Fort Polk, the states #1 economic impactor,  and Lake Charles, Louisiana by Hwy 171, a major 4 lane highway and is just 45 miles from shallow and deep water ports.  Beauregard Parish is highly attractive to business and industry due to its natural resources, viable infrastructure that includes railroad and airport services and highly talented workforce.  The Beauregard Parish Airport is home to the state certified Beauregard Airport Mega site that has over 1,100 acres of prime property ready for development.

The Beauregard Parish schools are top rated and provide a well- educated workforce.  The historic First Street School, the city’s business and education incubator, is the home of the Office of Economic Development, Upper Iowa University, Northwestern State University, Beauregard Parish GED Program and home to small and emerging businesses.
